The Sunday Salon #25

Another Sunday and I am still behind on things. I have been fending off this wicked evil cold. I wish I did not catch these things, but alas, it seems I catch every little bug. On the reading end of things, I am still doing pretty well. However, for me I have not kept up on my reviews. Last week I said I would get all of my Black Stallion reviews done. Fail for me on that. Nevertheless, I have gotten some of them done and I am going to keep trying to do more.

Pen paling is going very good mail was a little slow last week such is. Overall, March is an interesting month I cannot believe that it is going by so fast honestly; it is going very fast almost to fast. Soon enough it is going to be April…and than May…my birthday month.

Have a fantastic Sunday.

March seems to be flying by and I am making mince meat out of doing my reviews I have 7 that I just counted that are drafts and need to be written. In addition, that does not include the ones I haven’t made book cover posts for, but I am going to dedicate some time tomorrow for review writing and hopefully will get those posted.

I have been reading some of my childhood favorites again The Black Stallion series, and I am really enjoying it. I have also of course been doing a lot of letter writing and mail art, you can see more about that at my Birth of a Notion blog. I am currently writing a letter to Uganda, which is exciting.

Sleep has been a very odd cycle lately. Yesterday I got to sleep around 7pm and stayed asleep till about 6am waking up occasionally in-between for little times. It was a very odd sleep for me. As of yet I haven’t been to sleep since the 6am wake up and I am flagging a bit. But that is not about books now is it? Ha ha.

Next up in my pile is some more Black Stallion books than I am going to try to connect with the Sookie Stackhouse book I have listed as the one I am reading. I want to read the book and so far, it IS a good book. I just have not been able to connect with it and attach. I am not sure why perhaps because my mind is all over the place on other things like letter writing. However, I am reading just being bad about posting reviews. Happy Sunday everyone I hope yours was well, I have been writing letters and watching silly ice skating movies on ABC family.

Another late Sunday Salon, it has been one of those weeks. Hubby brought home a cold bug and I of course got it and am now suffering from the affects. On the bright end I am enjoying reading through The Black Stallion series again and while I am backed up on the reviews it is still enjoyable.

I had to mentaly swat myself for the fact that I realised I had a Feb Wrap up post created and saved as draft but I did not post it. So I will wrap that up and get it posted this week before we get any farther into the Month of March. So much to do there just is not enough hours in the day for being sick and reading and writing. Yeesh.

Another week has gone by and it is hard to believe that we are going to be going into March now. March already what happened to February? I have not done much reading this week I am sad to say I did not even get through one book. I do have two reviews that I need to post as well. I have just been very wrapped up in the Olympics and writing my pen pal letters. Along with that, I have also been planning a new letter project as well as working on some website designs. I am so blessed at those who have taken a liking to my blog designs. I meant to get started on a St. Pats day for myself but I have not yet done that. I hope that I will find some time before St. Pats day.

On Another note, please check out this website…

Thank you to those who are doing this. Always a kind and wonderful blessing when people help fight the terribleness that is Cancer

I know my Sunday Salon is a little bit late today but I wanted to save this post till I got to do what I have been looking forward too all week, well really even longer than that. I was able to get together with my book friends from my book swap site. It has been so long since I was able to because I have been so sick, and it was fantastic to meet with them all!

I want to thank any of my friends who may see this post. THANK YOU THANK YOU so much for making today such a fantastic day for me. We talked about everything…books the Olympics my love of Thomas Jefferson (I swear someday they will think I am odd but not today!)

I brought The Tea House Fire (review coming soon) to trade in our game and I had to giggle a bit you see the person who had my book first stole another persons book but when the person who than had my book opened it she did a little darn cause she liked my book too. Well than someone else stole my book, lol she had been wanting it since she saw it in another swap and had it stolen twice from her. I have never had such a popular book! This one is worth it though!

So while most of my week was a little bit of a bummer my Sunday was fantastic. Moreover, it was all thanks to fellow book lovers. I am going to be carrying this day with me for a while.

Well my Sunday Salon is pretty late. And the biggest reason for that is I decided to pretend that Sunday was not even happening this week. Mostly because my husband failed majorly at Valentines Day. I do not ask for much I do not expect big gifts and lavish this. I told him 8 times all I wanted was a card and my favorite chocolate.

Well at 11am on Valentines Day, I was asked to write down my favorite chocolate. That…really hurt. I mean seriously that he didn’t think enough of me to get the card before the day of. Or to remember the chocolate I like. I mean we have been a couple for almost 6 years and I ask for the same damn chocolate 3 times per year. It is not rocket science.

Of course, at present he thinks I have blown it out of proportion. Maybe I have. However, my feelings and I am entitled to them. So I am avoiding Sunday and I am going to be going to read now.

Another week and more trials have gone by. This week was a rough one for me health wise I was not feeling adequate at all and I had some serious issues sleeping. But aside from that, it has not been a horrible week.

I have had some creative snaps while not being able to sleep and that comes in handy 😉 I have also been officially signed up and accepted to sell Stationery Products from Exaclair. I am very excited about this as they carry some of the finest stationery’s out there.

I plan to list the unscented items of G. Lalo and Clairefontaine on my Lady Ambrosia’s Creations website, as well as my custom scented items. So far, I have my custom scented items listed on Etsy to see if there is any interest. Once I get packaging done on some of my other things I plan on listing those as well. But I have to do packages and pictures first.

Reading has also been slow, but I am slowly but surely doing it. I finished the Candice book and I just have t do the review. I am reading my next book in line slowly and it is good. I am enjoying it. I have some serious writer’s cramp from all the pen paling I have been doing but I cannot complain too much I really do enjoy pen paling. I enjoy writing so much.

I also did my first ink review on my ink review blog and that went over pretty well I think.

So overall while I have not been feeling well it has been a very busy week and fulfilling. I hope this coming week I get some more reading done.

It is the last day of January; wow that month seemed to go by a little bit slow. To me anyways, the beginning of the month was fast and than it slowed down at the end. Maybe that is because the last few weeks I have been pretty sick and things always seem to go slower when I do not feel well.

I am still distressed about the situation at my favorite swap site, I have not heard back from the owners, my account is still frozen, and it has been a week. I sent a polite e-mail asking about the situation. I had forgotten about it for a little bit when I had a hospital visit (boo) but now I am back to worrying about it. I hope it will be resolved in a good way.

I stayed on top of my books for the most part this month, which is a good thing. I need to go through and update all of my challenges later today and I am going to make that one of my projects. I have been writing a lot more than reading a lot but that is because I have renewed my love of letter writing, and found a love of fountain pens. I do not own any “nice” ones but the cheapies work great and better than a Bic or Papermate anyways.

I got the taxes filed safe and sound for this year. We are supposed to get a refund but I never count on it until it is in my account. We shall see. If we get what we are supposed to, I can be caught up on some of the medical bills. Not fully but certainly more comfortable which will be very nice and perhaps I can treat myself to a nice fountain pen, not a Mont Blanc by any means but maybe a middle of the road Lamy, or Waterman.

My Marked Ambrosia blog has been going okay, but a little bit rough because of when I was not feeling well. I fell behind on the stories. I got one posted and another is written and mostly posted but I have to finish typing that up. That will be another goal for today.

Have a happy Sunday.

Another Sunday has come and gone. I am late in posting my Salon which I apologize for. I had a rough weekend, and that was coming up on my already rough week. Long story short, was sick again having issues holding onto food, got hurt by some comments that were said weather they meant too or not. And someone way over reacted about RAOS and complained to my favorite site (and I didn’t get their address from there.) and the account is frozen currently. I got an email from them and hopefully it will all be worked out and my account will be back to normal shortly.

Over all my week was alright from a reading perspective. I got some books read and reviews put up. I have a blog tour coming up and I am sure you will all enjoy the guest post there and the interview. Woot. I am about to tuck into a new book about Gordon Ramsay that should cheer me up a little bit as I really enjoy the chef.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday.
