Alright, so I can admit it. July was a flop month for me. I only got maybe half my books read. And didn’t finish the reviews, I didn’t even do an update on my challenges. So I will call July my vacation month. I was sick and well you read for pleasure right not because you have to. So. It was a slump. August and Sept (more so Sept) will be slower as well. You see in 21 days my weekends will be spent down in Shakopee at the Renn Fest. I love fest but it leaves little time for weekend reading. However I have vowed to attempt to get back on track. So coming up I will be posting my August books (I haven’t picked all of them but at least the first. I will be posting my Challenge updates I will be posting my reviews from July that aren’t up yet. And I will be getting back on track with my Meme’s. Thank you all for sticking with me in the bad month. On the bright side, I did get to go to Twi-Tour Mpls in July. That was awesome.

Lost In Austen
Colin Firth in clingy pants…that is the line I just heard from my TV. Made me laugh. I am watching a show I caught on PBS but wasn’t able to see all of it so I netflixed it. Lost in Austen. And so far this show is a positive riot. What woman has not felt like that? Screw real men and give me somebody like Mr. Darcy. I think in some way I have found my own Mr. Darcy with his way anyways. But, this show is rather funny.
Has anyone else seen it?
Have you ever…
Looked at your pile of book’s and thought perhaps you had way to many?
I did that today.
But… *laughs* than I remind myself you can never have to many books.

My Challenge Update
So it is going to be April and I decided to take a look at how my challenges are shaping up. And I have to say not to bad on most of them.
For my overall challenge I have read 34 out of 125 books.
I have completed 3 out of 12 on my YA challenge.
I have completed 2 out of 10 on my Historical challenge, but will be reading another two this month.
I have completed 1 of 6 for my “what’s in a name” challenge. Again I have 3 coming up this month.
I have not completed any for my themed book challenge which finishes in July. But again I have several up for this month 2 or 3 than I will be getting some other books that are first in the series to I can finish it up.
I have completed 6 out of 12 books for my year of reading dangerously challenge.
Over all I think I am doing pretty good on my challenges. I will admit I dropped the ball a bit on the themed book challenge I forgot about it. Oppsy, but I am going to make it up I will get it finished by July!
The Debbie Downer book group
Yup, that’s what I am calling the monthly book talk on PBS the Debbie Downer book club. I don’t mean that in a mean way, really I don’t. But as I sit here reading and finding myself crying yet AGAIN I shake my head.
Now just because the books are sad doesn’t mean they are bad. But if you look at the three books I have been reading for this group. First month we started with Shoot the Moon by Billie Letts, while the book ended up being one of my favorites I have read it was depressing. The story is great, but there really isn’t a “happy” ending. The character is still dead, she was still murdered. It is a Debbie downer.
Second we read we need to talk about Kevin by Lionel Shriver. The book is about a school shooting, and it is told from the shooters moms POV. I really do not think you could find a more depressing book than that to read. It was heavy, and hard to read. With all the school shootings wasn’t unexpected but still.
And the book for April? All the Numbers by Merrill Larsen. I am half way through and so depressed. It’s about a mom losing her youngest son to a horrible accident. And moving on with her older son. I realize it is a story of hope and love. But again it’s SO SAD. It is a good book and it will get a positive review. But SHEESH. I wish we could pick something HAPPY in my book group.
No Day But Today…
Rent, that is what is on my mind today. I have had trouble sitting down and finnishing my book because all I can think about it RENT. The final touring production is in town today and I am going. I have great seats, second row first Balc. We will be able to see the whole stage easily. I have seen rent on stage before so to most it might not seem like a big deal. But, it is. Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp are reprising their roles as Roger and Mark for this final closing tour. I am SO excited. Call me a little fan girl. Cause I am. Tonight is going to be great.

LightShip Research
With the economy the way it is right now we can all use a little help. This company is a great choice LIGHTSHIP RESEARCH . Lightship research will help get you placed in the job you need. This is a great team that helps polish you up to be the best you can be for any employer. And with as competitive as things are in the market right now we can all use some help.
Here is a great testimonial from someone who was helped by Lightship.
“I lost my job as Vice President of Sales with a national technology firm and signed up for assistance with a career management firm that turned out to be terrible. I gave them $10K and they did nothing, not even return my calls. I called my lawyer and he got most of my money back and said that his neighbor had used a company called Lightship Research http://www.lightshipresearch.com. They charged less than a quarter of what the other company did and were accessible and they’re for me every step of the way. I even felt like the whole team were my friends and went through the same emotional ups and downs as I did through my job search. It took me 9 weeks and now I am the VP of Sales for a fast growing biometrics company. These are highly hard working and ethical people. I recommend them to everyone I talk to.” -M. Olson, PA
Caller Id Spoofing
I have been doing some research on different caller id hiders, and similar lately. I know it seems like a funny pass time but really it is mostly because of the issues with my step mom. Anyone who knows me knows that lady has made it virtually impossibly to call my dad and talk to him. Thanks to caller id. She sees it’s me calling and can just hang up the phone or ignore it. So while I was looking I found this website, I thought maybe it would be some good information for some of my other book friends out there.
For those that never heard with Caller ID Spoofing you can change what shows on the Caller ID. Spread this link www.FreeSpoofing.com as many places as you can. 123Spoof.com is now offering Free Unlimited 2 minute ad-supported Spoof Calls.
