THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: How do you review your books? Do you review them right away as soon as you finish reading them? Or do you let them wait a bit and do you ever fall behind?

Another busy week and I feel like I am so behind on posting reviews gah! So this week the muse is inspired by just that. I used to be very good about posting every single review almost as soon as I finished it. Now however I end up letting myself think about the book a little and then I end up getting behind. Lots of fun…lol

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you like to read when you are feeling under the weather?

When it rains, it seems to pour does it not? I won’t lament too much here and bore you, but I was under the weather this last week. Not a great way to spend ones birthday. However, it did get me thinking of this week’s muse. I know when I am sick as much as I would like to read, it seems to be a little bit too much work. My brain would prefer to veg out and binge watch something. I know others like to curl up in bed with their favorite book. So what do you prefer to do when you are feeling sick?

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you prefer Fiction or Non-Fiction?

Happy Beltane/May Day to all! I am running a little bit late today sorry about that. I won’t bore you with the details but I will just say I have been busy launching my new eCommerce site and the help I was supposed to get didn’t materialize. I digress, into the question of the week we go.

I am a person who likes both fiction and non-fiction. I enjoy the entertainment that comes from fiction but there is something just as enthralling about a historical non-fiction or a memoir. I suppose if I was forced to choose just one it would be Fiction. With fiction you do get the really good historical fictions which can be accurate within their framework. Which do you like best?

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: When someone in your life passes do you pick up a book hey liked or one that reminds you of them to read?

With last week ending with the memory of Prince being gone for a year and this week starting with my Great Grandpa Mort passing away, I find myself pondering these topics lately. I am sorry if it seems melancholy to any readers, I suppose it can be. Honestly for me choosing to do some action like read a book that person enjoyed is a way to celebrate their lives. Now if I can just find the one that my Great Grandpa liked (I know it is here somewhere..in my spring cleaning mess lol) I can read it.

So what do you do?

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you have a favorite time of day to read?

Taking a little bit of an easy way out this week, sorry about that I had to fill a large wholesale order for my shop and am a bit tired.

I tend to like to read in the evenings after everyone has settled down for the night. I am a night owl anyways and am often asleep during the day I admit, lol but I do like the peace of reading without a lot of interruptions. I will of course read at any time of day when I have the chance, but oh I don’t like interruptions. It never fails if I read before other people in the house go to bed or even the dogs and cats settle for a while, I am going to end up setting down my book at least 10 times in the space of a few hours. If I wait though I can generally have peace and not have to set down my book at all.

How about you?

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION:What’s the coolest name you have ever seen in a book? Would you name your offspring after said fictional character?

I read a lot of books with different names from ancient times to the fun fantasy names. I actually had to sit and think about it and I ended up going with the names from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I know most of them are just curious takes on words and names but they are still pretty cool. I would say Rhage or Tohrment would be my favorite. I wouldn’t name a child after them but there are other more normal names I would lol like Hal. Hope Monday goes well for everyone.

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Are there any songs that make you think of certain books or scenes from books? If so, which songs/books?

For me, I think it would end up taking me a month to name all of the songs I picture when I am reading certain scenes in books. I think for me reading can often also work much like writing, I tend to have a playlist or something playing along when I am not only writing but reading too. If I have to pick one song and scene right at the moment I would pick the theme song to the Vikings, if I had a heart to the books I am making slow progress on called The Viking. It isn’t the book’s fault, of course, my brain just keeps being a flibberty gibbet again, lol. So how about you?

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION:What was your favorite picture book as a kid?

I went with a fun and easy one this week after my slightly heavy Sunday Salon, that and I am always trying to think of kids books to add to collections. My favorite book with pictures is a toss up. I LOVED Hop on Pop it was probably my all time favorite for YEARS. My Dad used to read it to me all the time. Also I had the Golden book of 365 stories It had pictures in it but it was more story focused. Either way this was another one my Dad or Mom would read to me. One story each night before bed, that one is still a favorite as well. Good memories.

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: I am going to stick with the theme I started with Sunday Salon for a moment. I hope no one minds. What do think of fairy tales in general? The book versions and their movie counter parts?

With all the live action movies coming out fairy tales are on the mind again for me. I love them and for me while I love the Disney take I really love to read the books that they come from. The books are of course always darker and that is some of the fun. Like the Snow Queen or The little Mermaid (two favs) for me. Although later this year a new version of The Little Mermaid is coming that is a (closer to the) book version vs. Disney so that is going to be fun.

Maybe I have a dark sense of humor like some friends say..I do love Into the Woods after all..lol

Have a Happy Monday!

THIS WEEKS RANDOM QUESTION: Do you post book reviews right after you finish the book? Or do you wait a while so you can fully digest it before posting a review?

I wish I could say I was cut and dry on how I post reviews, but I am all over the place! As we saw I posted my last one from 2016 in 2017, well into it. LOL. I usually try to be somewhat prompt on my reviews with a book, but I will take some time to think about it. Of course, doing that will often mean I get distracted with the other million things I end up doing.

With all of the above said, if there is a book that I am just really, really excited about and head over heels for in love with. Well of course I have a habit of running right to my keyboard and hammering out a review while its clear and I am still buzzing with the excitement. Sometimes I will be so angry at a book I will do the same, LOL. So which do you prefer?

Have a Happy Monday!
