What is your policy when it comes to new authors? Do you feel comfortable purchasing a book, or do you prefer to borrow new authors from the library? How often do you ‘try out’ a new author?
I do not really have a policy about new authors. The fact is I am often reading new authors because the book looks good, or because a friend reccomended the book to me. In general I am more comfortable getting a new authors book via borrowing or a trade on Paperback Swap, but if the book really appeals to me I will buy it. Someone being new is not a good reason for me to not buy a book. After all every author was new at one time.
I have a few friends who have had surgeries done recently. Mostly reductions, you know what kind. *heh* but you could look into having something else done to. If your in the Kansas City Area I found this link Kansas City Plastic Surgeonsfor you to check out. You can schedule a consult, it’s an important choice to make, feel free to check them out.
This week I am feeling like icky sick with a cold. So i have a thought to shout my quote is eww i am sick, lol. Instead i will do one that makes me smile. Just one.
“Forged in War, Born in Death, Saved by Love” – Jackson Rathbone on Jasper Hale
This video made me laugh so hard I got a coughing fit because of my cold. He is really truly a funny one. He reminds me of a friend from school who had much the same personality.
Plum Sykes burst on to the literary scene in 2004 with her beguiling debut novel introducing readers to the glamorous world of PAPs (Park Avenue Princesses) and her loveable heroine, Moi, a “champagne bubble of a girl” who became an instant hit with readers from coast to coast.
I am sorry it took me so many years after publication for me to find this book. The Bergdorf Blondes is a really wonderful romp through socialite New York. The book follows the point of view of Moi, with her friends Julie Bergdorf (the queen bee of society), Lara and Jolene and may others. At some parts you want to laugh and ask yourself can anyone really be this shallow. They abbreviate everything including the word PH for potential husband. But, at the end of the day you really just do have to laugh about it.
Moi takes us not only into the world of the fashion obsessed “Princesses of Park Avenue” but through a series of her own very poor relationship mistakes. There is Zach, the moody depressing photographer who treats her like crap, who she almost marries. Eduardo the married, with children prince from some where or another, Patrick the married man with the psycho wife. And of course the very “regrettable” Charlie Dulain, who is Julie’s boy friend, or so she thought. You will get a few curve balls you didn’t see coming in this fun little run around the world, from New York to Rio and back again. I recommend reading this one if you want something easy, and something to lighten your mood.
So it’s that time of morning again when I am thinking about real estate, and a favorite line from the patriot comes to mind, “Tell me about Ohio”. So yes I am talking about Ohio, this company here Real Property is a cool company in Ohio that manages all over the state. Their website boasts managing units, single family homes ect. They have a 2008 honorable mention award too, over all I think its pretty cool and put it in the keeper pile with tell me about Ohio Real Estate. The weather has to be better than Minnesota right? So if you’re in Ohio, or thinking about Ohio give that link a click and check it out.
So I was looking back over some of my reviews lately and smacked myself in the head. Most of my reviews as of late have been so short. How bad of me, I mean really you think I could squeee out a few more words. And I am going to try, I resolve to attempt to write more about each book I read. And be a good girl.
