“I swear by God I never abused my sovereigns bed.” Wept pleadingly, the words were lost on the wind one that blew over a nation that cared nothing for the young Queen nor the grim fate she steadily neared. Yet, horror-striken, she spoke to them still, a silent testimony to the truth no one wished to hear, “In the name of God and all his holy angels and on the salvation of my soul, I am innocent of the crimes for which I am condemned!” ~ page 1 The Queens mistake by Diane Haeger

I am currently working on three books. My craft ADD seems to have passed on to books. That is okay though one is a re-read for me.

“As I stood outside in Cow Lane, it occurred to me that Heaven must be a place where the library is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. No … eight days a week.” ~ The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce #1)
by Alan Bradley

““He promised her that he would give her everything, everything she wanted, as men in love always do. And she trusted him despite herself, as women in love always do.” ~ The White Queen (The Cousins’ War #1)
by Philippa Gregory (this is my re-read)

“If they could have made the journey entirely by horseback, Seraphine would have been an interpid traveler and an agreeable companion. Seraphine mewed up in a ship for so long was an entirely different creature, but Sir Patrick had been anxious to return to London as soon as possible.” ~ The Lady of Secrets (The Dark Queen Saga #6)

“An old house is alive with ghosts. Each person that lived there made some kind of mark; if not in the choice of paint or cabinetry, then in a ding in the wall, a faucet with the handles installed backward, or a name carved out in the wallpaper behind the bed in secret. In some way, each voice that wandered its rooms whispers, “I was here.”

Had a pretty busy week last week and I was not able to do much reading, so I am still on the Anita Blake novel but that is alright it is a good one so far and has some fun quotes.

“I knew from the moment I heard you, the moment I saw the gun and realized that this lovely, petit woman was the executioner, that you would never die waiting for me to save you – that you would save yourself.”
― Laurell K. Hamilton, Narcissus in Chains
