Have you ever wondered what secrets lurk behind the closed doors of New York City’s wealthiest families? They’re powerful, they’re famous… they’re undead. Schuyler Van Alen’s blood legacy has just been called into question–is the young vampire in fact a Blue Blood, or is it the sinister Silver Blood that runs through her veins? As controversy swirls, Schuyler is left stranded in the Force household, trapped under the same roof as her cunning nemesis, Mimi Force, and her forbidden crush, Jack Force. When one of the Gates of Hell is breached by Silver Bloods in Rio de Janeiro, however, the Blue Bloods will need Schuyler on their side. The stakes are high; the battle is bloody; and through it all, Carnavale rages on. And in the end, one vampire’s secret identity will be exposed in a revelation that shocks everyone.

This time I Promise.

I am sure this time. New outlook, new start. The Blog will be updated regularly. From henceforth. I fell off the wagon when I got sick and fell on my pity pot. I am still sick but I am getting off the pity pot. I miss my books. I really do, I know I will not complete my main challenge this year. But that’s okay this was my first year for challenges, So I will call this the trial year. Trial and error. I gave it a good shot right? So here we go again. I am currently beginning work on The Blue Bloods Novel Revelations. And than up next? I am probably going to re-read Twilight and New Moon in prep for the Movie release.

Modern Furniture

While I haven’t been feeling well I have also been looking at some links. And this one came across my desk to look at Modern Furniture. And I can tell you if I was going to be redecorating anytime soon this is defiantly a place I would want to buy from. They have absolutely fantastic contemporary furniture. They have everything you could think of from sofas to loveseats dining room and bathroom. Any furniture that you can choose from. They ship all over the USA and they also ship to Canada so head on over and give them a look I highly recommend it.

You can all spank me again if you want.

I haven’t been reading. I haven’t been posting. I think I have fallen into a pit of depression. But I am trying to pull myself out of it. I promise I will. I don’t think I am going to meet my challange goal this year. But I am going to try to accomplish as many of them as I can. And in the end, next year is a new year yes? And a new year to try challanges. So..here we go I am going to attempt to pull myself up from the lurk.

Musing Monday #24

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about reading trends…

Do you find yourself forming trends in your reading? Is this a conscious act, influenced by either your own interests or current publishing fads?

I do not consciously read in trends, but I find lately I do seem more likely to read one genre for a while and than switch over. Although in the last several months my reading has been slow I think its because I havent felt well. I am hoping once my stint with Renn fest is done I will focus on my books again. I have fallen behind on my goal for the year. But over all I am happy. I have read a lot more than some people do. I don’t go with publishing fad’s at all. But if an author I like I will go on and buy the new release.

Book Review: Cleopatra’s Daughter by Michelle Moran

Moran’s latest foray into the world of classical history (after The Heretic Queen) centers upon the children of Marc Antony and Cleopatra . After the death of their parents, twins Alexander and Selene and younger brother Ptolemy are in a dangerous position, left to the mercy of their father’s greatest rival, Octavian Caesar. However, Caesar does not kill them as expected, but takes the trio to Rome to be paraded as part of his triumphant return and to demonstrate his solidified power. As the twins adapt to life in Rome in the inner circle of Caesar’s family, they grow into adulthood ensconced in a web of secrecy, intrigue and constant danger. Told from Selene’s perspective, the tale draws readers into the fascinating world of ancient Rome and into the court of Rome’s first and most famous emperor. Deftly encompassing enough political history to provide context, Moran never clutters her narrative with extraneous facts. Readers may be frustrated that Selene is more observer than actor, despite the action taking place around her, but historical fiction enthusiasts will delight in this solid installment from a talented name in the genre. What can be said about Cleopatra’s Daughter? I will tell you what can be said the book is beyond stunning. You get the feel of ancient Rome and the delicateness of it right at your finger tips. How must it have felt to loose your Mother and Father? To be left with a man who felt like a tyrant, the man who took you back to Rome in chains and paraded you around like you were a prize.

And that what happens when you find something else? A daughter of Egypt fathered by Rome…who finds…. Well I can’t ruin the whole story for you now can me!? But the stunning imagery of this book will keep you turning the pages again and again. The history is good, while I found a few comments to make myself I think it’s only because of my closeness to the topic. If you are a fan of Roman work you can not miss this book.

Personally I have been waiting a very long time for a book having to do with the children of Marcus Antonius and Cleopatra Selene. And finally one has arrived. Make sure you go to your book store on Sept 15th 2009 and GET THIS BOOK.

Booking Through Thursday – Fluff

What’s the lightest, most “fluff” kind of book you’ve read recently?
Well I should say the book I am reading right now is the lightest fluff I have read in a while. It is a chic lit book called A promising man, and about time too. It’s pretty funny so far. I am happy with it. And I needed a little fluff after being in Vampire world. So long, lol.
