Who is a space case and never went back and updated her teaser last week? LOL This girl. Little mini vacation was lovely though, once we got there. On the way both front tires of my car blew, on a 75mph zone two lane highway at 9pm on a holiday weekend. Did you know that some cars have locking lug nuts? I didn’t. I have roadside assistance but thanks to the locking lug nuts and lack of key they couldn’t help other then calling a tow truck. Cutting a long story short ended up renting a car to make the 2 hour drive to see David Cook & Idina Menzel. At least the hotel as always was a dream, highly reccomend you treat yourself to The Westin sometimes the beds alone….heavenly.
I digress….it is Teaser Tuesday not long tale Tuesday, lol.

Great teaser. I’m liking Alma already. So glad that you’re okay. I’ve never heard of both tires blowing out at once. With locking lug nuts their should have been a key that kind of looks like a lug nut that came with them?

Oh my goodness – it sounds like there was something on the road to make both tyres go like that together. How very frightening. I’m glad you’re fine and managed to continue your journey.
Yeah it was scary especially as I had both of my dogs with me too. There has been construction on the road and there was a short distance back from where my tires went, so I do think we picked something up. On the way back home on Tuesday there was a lot of evidence of other explosions of tires. I thanked my Dad for teaching me to cool be cool under pressure while driving for sure.

I don’t think I would have stayed quite as calm as you, if that had happened to me. You obviously know how to keep a cool head when those around you might start to panic!
That you then went on to make the decision about if and how to continue your journey, is even more impressive and I am so pleased that it all paid off and you had a great time!

It is a very curious situation for sure! I am really enjoying this one.
and forgot to say thank you for saying I have a cool head LOL. Others might not agree with that most days. That said I can tell you after the fact and when the dealer said it was both tires not one (it was pitch black I only saw the one at the time) I got very shaky. It could have been so much worse esp as I was going the speed limit on that stretch of highway of 75 miles an hour!
Honestly I have to first say thanks to my Dad about being able to keep a cool head and then just training I had really when I was in the girl scouts. My Dad was a good teacher for a teenager for driving lessons. Even though my first time on the freeway was during rush hour while it was raining pretty hard, with my sister in the back seat….I was terrified and crying, but I never made a mistake and at the end of it he told me he knew I could do it. Some might think what he did was mean and maybe it was a tiny bit, but it taught me a lesson to focus and remain as calm as possible even when your having a meltdown. Moreover, it was a lesson that was important since I was born raised and learned how to drive in good ole Minnesota. Panic when you hit a patch of black ice in the winter and you could end up hurting someone else and or yourself. Training as a camp counselor helped a lot too because if a camper gets hurt you are the first responder and freaking out about it won’t help. Rather the same when working with horses too.
Suppose my life has been a bit of a motto of “Emergencies happen, take care of what needs to be done, freak out later.” lol
But oh boy that Heavenly bed at the Westin was needed after all that lmao
