Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme that wants you to add books to your TBR, or just share what you are currently reading. It is very easy to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.

Even though when I read through it before I really did NOT like this book at all. Thanks to the hulu series I decided to give this one another shot. So..here goes.

“But who can remember pain, once it’s over? All that remains of it is a shadow, not in the mind even, in the flesh. Pain marks you, but too deep to see. Out of sight, out of mind.”
― Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale

Have to confess I’ve never read The Handmaid’s Tale although it is a book I’ve wanted to read for a while.

I’ve gone for something light hearted this week https://iwuvbooks.wordpress.com/2017/05/02/teaser-tuesday-2nd-may-2017/

  2. Julika says:

Wow, it’s been a while since I read The Handmaid’s Tale … for university, followed by a slightly unfair “did you really read it” test. Fun memories *cough*. Maybe it’s more fun if you don’t read it under pressure.

My teaser is from Percs Jackson’s Greek God by Rick Riordan.

  3. I started that book but just couldn’t get into it. Only read a little bit of it. Here’s ours: http://ourstack.blogspot.com/2017/05/teaser-tuesday.html

  4. OOh nice one! Been years since I had to read this one!

    Here’s my Tuesday Post

  5. Beth F says:

    A great book!

I’m playing today at Beth Fish Reads

  6. sjhigbee says:

A Handmaid’s Tale… a great book though it isn’t necessarily an ENJOYABLE read. Hope you are finding it fulfilling and thought provoking. This is my TT –

  7. Colline says:

I am not a fan of Margaret Atwood. I prefer read such as the one I contribute for this week’s teaser challenge: https://collinesblog.com/2017/04/15/it-started-with-paris-by-cathy-kelly/

  8. Majanka says:

I haven’t read that book yet, but heard a lot of great things about it.

  9. Kathy Martin says:

This book is on my TBR mountain. Maybe I’ll find time to read it in retirement. This week my YA pick is The Selection by Kiera Cass. Happy reading!

  10. Kathy Martin says:

This week I’m reading The Girl Who Knew Too Much by Amanda Quick – a new book by a favorite author. Happy reading!

  11. I love The Handmaid’s Tale! I read it for the first time in February, and now am looking forward to reading the audio. I really like Atwood’s writing.

Here’s mine for this week, a taste of Louise Erdrich’s LaRose: http://www.literaryfeline.com/2017/05/where-is-your-bookmark-05022017.html

  12. Laura Thomas says:

I read this so long ago I can’t really remember it. Seeing it around a lot now.

    My TT from The Samsaric

  13. P.D. Workman says:

It was one of our options in grade 12 English, and I didn’t choose it. Never have been a big fan of Margaret Atwood. But maybe I’ll pick it up one of these days to give it a try.

How about a twisty suspense read about a handsome man with amnesia? https://wp.me/p3Nz8P-1iG

  14. Tracy says:

I love Margaret Atwood! Appropriate teaser for the new upcoming series. My teaser is from The Dog Walker.

  15. Kym says:

True confession: I’ve never read any Atwood. o.O Never appealed to me, although since The Handmaid’s Tale is a classic, maybe I should give it a try.
Here’s my Teaser for this week: http://bit.ly/2qoJNK5

    Here’s my teaser: https://readingbetweenthepagesblog.wordpress.com/2017/05/02/tuesday-teaser-girl-in-disguise-by-greer-macallister/

  20. Excellent teaser! Handmaid’s Tale is the only Atwood I’ve read. Read it when it first came out and enjoyed it a lot. Seems like a good book for everyone (especially women, of course) to be reading at this specific moment in time. You think it can’t happen in the real world, but you never know….

    Here’s my teaser:

  21. I haven’t read the book, but I tried to watch the movie many years ago. It was too intense for me! However, I should try to read the book now that I’m older.
My Tuesday post features Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die.

  22. Nise' says:

Enjoyed this book. Hope the new series is just as good.

    My Teaser

  23. Laura says:

That’s a thought provoking book. Hope it goes better this time around. My teaser is from Shadow Burns by SM Reine http://razzberrycoloredglasses.blogspot.com/2017/05/teaser-tuesday-shadow-burns-by-sm-reine.html

  24. I must admit that I have never read any of Margaret Atwoods work and with its dystopian feel, I just know that ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ probably isn’t one for me.

I do however, really like the teaser lines you chose to share from the story and I hope that you enjoy the book the second time around!

My ‘Teaser’ lines this week, come from the historical Welsh mining saga ‘Family Feeling’ by Judith Saxton …

Thaks for sharing your own lines and for hosting TT 🙂

  25. I confess I still have to read this classic… It’s on my TBR, but I’m having the idea it wouldn’t exactly be for me. I hope you will enjoy it better second time around!
Happy reading! Here’s my teaser of Anything For Her by Jack Jordan.

  26. Gabby says:

I thought I wanted to read this one, but then I found out more about it.. and I’m just not so sure. Great teaser though! Thank you for sharing!
My Teaser is from: Seeds of Eden by A.P. Watson
