Teaser Tuesday Time

Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme that wants you to add books to your TBR! You can also just share what you are currently reading. We make it very easy to play along, it is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1: Grab your current read
2: Open to a random page
3: Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.

Ambrosia’s little note:

Happy Teaser Tuesday everyone! I hope things are going well for you in your neck of the woods so far this week. Been pretty good here, my big win for the week is getting myself to like some oatmeal. Small victory I know but it is one for me, lol. Thanks to steel cut oats, my homemade apple butter and steel cut oats! Yum, tastes like fall. So now here we go to the Teaser…

“…it was my father who had taught me to love books for themselves, the smell of the vellum and paper, the rare authority of the pages. “Here, do you see this marvelous book, the skins of 182 sheep,” he once pronounced as he slapped his hand down on the stamped leather cover boards. “The book is a flock, a jewel, a cemetery, a lantern, a garden, a piss pot; pigments ground of precious minerals, charred bone, lamp soot, rare plants and insects. Pigments formed at the corrosion of copper plates suspended above urine.”

  1. Mmm! Oatmeal is an acquired taste and one which I have a love / hate relationship with, but your apple butter does sound good, either with or without oats!!

Your book is also really intriguing and I particularly liked the very first line. I’m not too sure about the rest of the vivid description, I might need to see that in some longer context.

My teaser lines today come from an emotionally challenging read, on a journey which was both heart-breaking and uplifting at one and the same time. A perceptive piece of writing …
