AC repair

Summer is upon us and most parts of the States and other places are getting very warm. If your AC stops working it can be nearly impossible to focus on anything but how hot you are. The great news for this is that if you need to find find ac repair in Raleigh nc or anywhere else it is perfectly possible to do so and not get overwhelmed. Just make sure you check out the company you will be going with, get some word of mouth testimonials and hopefully you will be basking in the wonderful coolness that is AC before you melt into a puddle.

Or you can always make some nice art…

I am reading two books this week so I will do a quote from each. First my Dresden book of the week.

“See? This is why I’m not religious. I couldn’t possibly keep my mouth shut long enough to get along with everyone else.”
― Jim Butcher, White Night

Then my other book of the week Vampire Meltdown:

“Will Zoe’s quest for vengeance lead her to the right man before she makes a fatal mistake?” ~ 1% Vampire Meltdown by Storm Savage

About the Author:
Elisa Freilich has enjoyed a love affair with language from her earliest days. Raised in rural Monsey, New York, Elisa spent her days reading whatever crossed her path and developed a keen appreciation for the ever-present music in her home – from classical to rock. French lessons and creative writing workshops complemented her adolescence, which was also greatly enhanced by a summer spent abroad at Cambridge University. From the time she could read and write, Elisa could often be found composing poems, song lyrics and satirical newspapers.
Throughout the years, Elisa has retained her devotion to all genres of books and music and was determined to synthesize her passions into one refreshing and original platform. The result is her debut novel, SILENT ECHO: A Siren’s Tale, which will be published by Diversion Books in September 2013. With her own lyrical style, Elisa has created a world that young adults around the globe will find intensely gripping and refreshingly original.

Musing Monday 6/23/14

Musing Monday is hosted over at Should Be Reading.

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

I know I have been on a Dresden file kick for a while and I am sure some are tired of listening to me about it, but it really is a great series. I am on Book 9

The inspiration for the Sci Fi channel television series

In Chicago, someone has been killing practitioners of magic, those incapable of becoming full-fledged wizards. Shockingly, all the evidence points to Harry Dresden’s half-brother, Thomas, as the murderer. Determined to clear his sibling’s name, Harry uncovers a conspiracy within the White Council of Wizards that threatens not only him, but his nearest and dearest, too…

One of my favorite parts of the series thus far is Mouse, his Dog. The dog is SO smart his smart reminds me of how smart my Dutchy cat is.

Sunday Salon 6/22/14

Sunday again here folks and I am a little bit bla so pardon if the post comes off as such. I have gotten some good reading done this week. Finished another Dresden book, finished when Girlfriends step up and some Sci Fi books. Yay for that. I have also started on the next Dresden book though only a few chapters in so far due to before mentioned Meh feeling.

In other news, the Final Season of True Blood starts tonight. I know many are wary of what is going on given how the last season ended.

All I can say is bring on the Viking.

Book Review: Seeds Across the Sky (Lodestone #4) by Mark Whiteway

The discovery of an ancient artefact sends Keris of the kelanni and the human Alexander McCann spinning back into the distant past to uncover a threat more terrible than either of them could conceive.

‘Seeds Across the Sky’ is the fourth book in the best selling Lodestone Series.

Seeds Across the Sky by Mark Whiteway is the fourth book in the Lodestone series and another solidly fantastic book. With this instalment of the exciting series Keris is investigating the theft of an important artifact that takes her to Alexander the last human and from there the adventure continues when he is able to get the artifact for her. If you want a book that is once again full of adventure, fun, twists and power this is really the book for you. While it is clearly part of a series I personally feel that if you were to come along this one first there is enough information that it could be a standalone as well. Mark Whiteway clearly knows what he is doing when it comes to writing Science Fiction and has become my new favourite author in the genre.

Book Reviews: Dead Beat (The Dresden Files #7) by Jim Butcher

There’s an entire world that exists alongside the everyday life of mankind. There are powers, nations, monsters, wars, feuds, alliances – everything. Wizards are part of it. So are a lot of other things you’ve heard about in stories, and even more you’ve never heard of…Vampires. Werewolves. Faeries. Demons. Monsters. It’s all real.

Harry Dresden knows full well that such creatures exist. Paranormal investigations are his stock-in-trade, and Chicago is his beat as he tries to bring law and order to a world that exists on the edges of imagination. Luckily Harry’s not alone in this struggle. And though most inhabitants of the Windy City don’t believe in magic, there’s a department that’s been set up within the Chicago PD to deal with “strange” cases: the Special Investigations department.

Karrin Murphy is the head of SI and a good friend of Harry’s. So when a deadly vampire threatens to destroy Murphy’s reputation unless Harry helps her, he has no choice. The vampire wants the Word of Kemmler and all the power that comes with it – but first Harry has to determine what the Word of Kemmler is. Now Harry is in a race against time – and six necromancers – to find the Word before Chicago experiences a Halloween night to wake the dead.

Oh Harry, where have you been all of my life. This is a world of wizards for adults and I love every moment that I spend with him. Harry is blackmailed in this one to do some bidding of the woman he dislikes a Vampire of the Black court oh and the things he does.

Zombie T-Rex…ZOMBIE T-REX and her name is Sue, that is all I can really say about that.

I really enjoyed this installment and things are getting worse for Harry and the war with the Vampires. Not only that but he ticks off a guy who is almost a deity. Yeah He is going to be having a bad time after that I think. I know some people don’t like Harry but I am not one of those, nope I love Harry, bring on the next book!

Booking through Thursday 6/19/14

This one is Hosted at the Booking through Thursday Blog.

All other things being equal, what is your favorite format for reading? Hardcover? Paperback? New book? Old book? Leather-bound first edition? E-book?

Oh this one is a little hard for me because I love so many kinds of books. However if someone was holding a gun to my head and making me choose just one kind of book, I would select paperback. They are smaller and easier and I love the smell of a real book the feel of the pages and just everything about it in general. I love leather bounds too though.

And this is a chance for me to share this little MEME i love 🙂
