When reading do you read every word? Do you ever skip chapters or skim over parts?
I read every single word.It would seem odd to me to skip words, or whole chapters! If it is a book that I don’t really want to read I tend not to focus on the words and usually following that end up giving up. I read to enjoy a book, I feel if I skip a word I am missing out on enjoyment, but not only that its cheating.
I’m with you…every word should be read. Sometimes if a book is so good I’ll want to skip ahead just to see what happens but force myself not to spoil it. I never want to miss out on something, no matter how little it may be to the plot/story.

Interesting question. If I’m reading for enjoyment, I absolutely read every word, and if I come across a particularly striking image or passage, I read it again to really savor the words. But if I’m reading a magazine article or letter simply for informational purpose, I’ll skip what I think is unnecessary to get to the meat of the text.
