Do you prefer to read collections that are all of works by the same author? Or collections by different writers? Consistency or variety?

I am about both! I love to read a good long series by an author I enjoy, I mean I spent most of last year reading Harry Dresden, I love the Cynster series by Stephanie Laurens, The Cousins wars by Phillipa Gregory…The Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig..the Lady Emily series by Tasha Alexander..bottom line for me is Both. I love when an Author I enjoy does a good series because I can settle in and know I am going to enjoy characters but I also like to find new authors. Nothing makes me sadder then when a series I love suddenly takes a bad turn and gets…not so great. sadly that happened with the Blue Blood novels for me.

No, no, I’m not asking if you like romances … what I want to know is what is it about stories that you love? Is it the stories themselves? The people? The plot twists?

Oh this is a clever one, I like a lot of different thing about stories. Romances or books in general. The first thing for me though is I have to like a character in the book. I need to feel some kind of connection to at least one character if not, I tend not to like the story as much. I love feeling like I am inside someone else’s life, like I am walking hand in hand with them. I like plot twists as well even though some of them have made me want to throw books at the wall and a couple books have even been thrown.

When the weather is cold and blustery, would you rather read something is equally wintery? Or something to take you as far away from the snow as possible?

It depends on the mood I am in for me. If I am in the mood to curl up and feel all wintery and seasonal I love a good snow bound winter book. If it has been super cold..for a super long period of time and I am fed up I will tend towards something that is geared in a warmer clime.

If you were going to write a book, what kind of book would it be? (And if you’re an author already, what kind of book would you LIKE to write that you haven’t written yet?)

I have written a lot of non fiction books and what I would really like to do in the future is write a Historical Fiction. Perhaps an alternative reality? Something with a little romance but with a focus on the historical part. I find there are not enough Rev war time period historicals so maybe that genre would suit me!

Do you ever weed out unwanted books from your library? And if so, what do you do with them?

Every once in a while I do this, though honestly not very often. Usually I purge when I have to move so there are less books to pack. When I have picked out some that I no longer wish to have I donate them to the thrift store or take them into the used book store for trade in credit. I also sometimes list them on Paperback swap.

What do you read when you’re sick and just want something easy and comforting? Or do you watch TV instead?(Assuming you’re not napping, of course.)

That is a tough one it really depends how sick I am. If I am really sick I just watch TV because if i am that sick my brain doesn’t want to work. If i am just semi sick I will stick with Historicals.

Okay, show of hands … who has read Shakespeare OUTSIDE of school required reading? Do you watch the plays? How about movies? Do you love him? Think he’s overrated?

*raises one hand..then another then jumps around* I have. In fact I always got mad that they made us Read R&J several times in school because I wanted to read other ones. Like Coriolanus! Not only have I read him I Have been to the plays, I watch the movies. Yes I enjoy the bard a great deal. I truly do. Can’t go wrong with a bit of the bard.

If a friend asks you to recommend a really good book—good writing, good characters, good story—but with no other qualifications … what would you recommend?

That is a tough one it can change on what I am reading at any given time. That said right now I would say either the Harry Dresden books or the J.R Ward series.
