Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme that wants you to add books to your TBR, or just share what you are currently reading. It is very easy to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.

I just had to use two quotes today, because this one short line one made me feel like it simply had to be posted.

“Don’t allow any man to treat you as less than you are.” & “But I don’t think any parent can expect to escape this life without disappointing his child at some point. And the same could be said the other way around. We all of us fall short now and again, and disappoint someone dear to us, or ourselves. Thankfully, my parents have always been the forgiving sort.” ~ The Dancing Master by Julie Klassen

” Though she had seen them together on many ocassions, this afternoon she sensed a new, palpable tension on the bowls court between the King and Thomas Wyatt. Jane was sure that the new embroidered declaration slashed across the Kings chest was only one example of royal response to it. The rivalry for Anne Boleyn has taken a bitter turn, and Anne played the kings declared refusal to choose her over the Queen like a champion, openly flirting with both of them until the Kings face was white with rage.” I, Jane pg 191 by Diane Haeger

“I was tired of living someone elses life. Since childhood, I had been told what to do, how to act, who to be. I had been instructed by other peoples expectations, their demands even their unspoken judgment, the only way to be happy was to become a carbon copy of the people around me. And for many years I was okay following their footsteps. I was okay showing up to my office job, wearing the suit, playing the role, but that was the thing; I was playing a role. I wasn’t actually being my true self.” ~ The Kindness Diaries by Leon Logothetis

“When a woman thinks her husband is a fool, her marriage is over. They may part in one year or ten; they may live together until death. But if she thinks he is a fool, she will not love him again.”~ The Other Queen (The Plantagenet and Tudor Novels #15)by Philippa Gregory

“When that unhappy day arrives, Mistress I will come for you, though I would tell you now that your firstborn son will not gain the title. Have no illusions of that, since I have five sons living. I will of course, make ample provision for ours.” ~ The Virgin’s Daughters by Jeane Westin pg 303

The priest coughed, his eyes searching the rear of the chapel, mentally finding his place in the wedding service. “I, require and charge you as you will answer at the dreadful day of judgement that if either of you do know of any impediments…. ”

“There are no impediments, ” Ned said impaitiently, his arm going reassuringly about Kate’s slender shoulders. “Get on!”

Back home and in the real world as mentioned in yesterday’s musing Monday. Happy to see my babies but a little grumpy about being back to the grindstone 😂. I hope everyone else is having a great week so far!

My emeralds reflected the stage lights, as they were intended to do. I removed my cloak and took my time sitting, as I knew William liked, giving them all a chance to see me, letting the glare of my jewels lure their gazes. — An inconvient wife by Megan Chance

Finally feeling a bit accomplished reading wise on holiday. Have finished three books this one I just finished this morning but technically it’s a today thing so I’m counting it as I’m on the train again.

He leaned over, reached into a bag she hadn’t noticed he had with him, and what looked like a yellow object resembling a rose. Handing it to her he said sheepishly, “Because I’m sorry for what I’ve done.” He reached in again and withdrew a pink one. “Because I adore you,” he said replacing the yellow one he had just given her with the pink. He reached down again and this time he pulled out a red one. “Because you’re my true love,” he said handing her the paper rose. – page 257 Intentions of the Earl (Scandalous sisters #1 by Rose Gordon

Tardy again I promise my holiday is almost over lol

Cecil had intercepted Phillip’s letters and she knew all his fears. Satisfaction filled her. A few months ago, less than a year, she was buried deep in the countryside, exiled from all state affairs and her people. – His Last letter by Jeanne Westin
