Musing Monday 12/9/13

Musing Monday is hosted over at Should Be Reading.

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
• Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us!
• Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

Being that I am still on a Vampire kick from Halloween but I am going to try to read a Christmas story for the season my Muse this week is, do you try to read holiday books this time of year? Or do you still just read what you want to read and go from there.

So like I said I am trying this year to read a holiday book. Honest side of it however is that up until this year I haven’t and I have not really given much thought to the time of year when I pick a book to read. I don’t go for the over the top Christmasy stuff since I celebrate Yule myself.

  1. I don’t go out of my way to read holiday stories, since I don’t celebrate holidays anyway. If something about a holiday is included in the story I read it, but don’t pick books specificly about holidays.

  2. I don’t make a point of reading seasonal books–I continue to read what sounds interesting. At the same time, I’m not against reading a Christmas book in August if that’s when I find it!

    1. That is my usual school of thought too. Glad to see I am not the only one. I have no idea what has possessed me to think about specifically reading holiday books this year. lol
