Teaser Tuesday 5/2/17

Teaser Tuesday

Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme that wants you to add books to your TBR, or just share what you are currently reading. It is very easy to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.

Even though when I read through it before I really did NOT like this book at all. Thanks to the hulu series I decided to give this one another shot. So..here goes.

“But who can remember pain, once it’s over? All that remains of it is a shadow, not in the mind even, in the flesh. Pain marks you, but too deep to see. Out of sight, out of mind.”
― Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale

  1. Wow, it’s been a while since I read The Handmaid’s Tale … for university, followed by a slightly unfair “did you really read it” test. Fun memories *cough*. Maybe it’s more fun if you don’t read it under pressure.

My teaser is from Percs Jackson’s Greek God by Rick Riordan.

  2. It was one of our options in grade 12 English, and I didn’t choose it. Never have been a big fan of Margaret Atwood. But maybe I’ll pick it up one of these days to give it a try.

How about a twisty suspense read about a handsome man with amnesia? https://wp.me/p3Nz8P-1iG

  3. I must admit that I have never read any of Margaret Atwoods work and with its dystopian feel, I just know that ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ probably isn’t one for me.

I do however, really like the teaser lines you chose to share from the story and I hope that you enjoy the book the second time around!

My ‘Teaser’ lines this week, come from the historical Welsh mining saga ‘Family Feeling’ by Judith Saxton …

Thaks for sharing your own lines and for hosting TT 🙂

  4. I confess I still have to read this classic… It’s on my TBR, but I’m having the idea it wouldn’t exactly be for me. I hope you will enjoy it better second time around!
Happy reading! Here’s my teaser of Anything For Her by Jack Jordan.
